Loss of Signal
LOS
1. Short for Loss of Signal, LOS is an indicator on a networking device that shows a signal connection has been dropped or terminator. Loss can occur for many reasons such as the cable connected to the network drive is bad, there is no connection on the other end, improper network configuration, or the device is bad.
2. LOS, during inclement weather extreme snowfall, torrential rain, tornadoes will activate the LOS satellite signal on our Direct TV screen to notify viewers to the degraded digital signal.
